Eric D. Jenkins
Eric D. Jenkins is a dynamic C-level executive with extensive experience in reorganization, restructuring, capital raising, buy and sell side advisory, merger integration, and interim management services. Mr. Jenkins has been an owner/entrepreneur, president, senior executive, and financial advisor to institutional investors and organizations in a wide range of industries including manufacturing, technology, consumer products, telecommunications, professional services, and real estate. Through his career, Mr. Jenkins has served as advisor in raising over $3 billion in capital and over $2 billion in strategic transactions.
As Managing Director at MainStream, Mr. Jenkins leads the company's financial advisory and crisis management efforts in the Chicagoland area with a particular focus on financial sponsors and middle market companies. The breadth of his experience has provided him with an incisive perspective on business, operating, financial, and structural challenges faced by management, boards, investors, and other constituencies.
Prior to joining MainStream, Mr. Jenkins was an owner/entrepreneur, president, and senior executive for public and private companies. He has also held senior management positions with financial services companies as Managing Director in Deloitte & Touche’s Financial Advisory Services group and Banc of America Securities' Investment Banking, Leverage Finance, International Capital Raising, and Private Placements groups.
Mr. Jenkins' representative client engagement experience includes:
- Restructuring Advisor to bondholder committee for the Midwest's largest indoor sports complex. Advised on business feasibility, capital structure, and restructuring options, and conducted a management assessment. Also, provided critical senior interim management services and conducted RFP and hiring process for new management team.
- Transaction and Restructuring Advisor for investor committee of illiquid real estate development company. Advised on refinancing plan, which allowed for greater cash flow flexibility, analyzed and recast financial projections and budget, and redesigned sales and marketing plan leading to a successful sale of the business and full repayment to investors.
- Transaction and Restructuring Advisor to investor committee of business outsourcing company. Responsible for renegotiating lending and leasing agreements, negotiating and mitigating significant potential liability overhang issues, recasting budget leading to cash flow neutral position, and leading the Company's successful sale post-restructuring.
- Restructuring Officer for publicly traded business process outsourcing company. Led the divestiture of non-strategic assets; secured alternative capital sources including a 7 million share structured equity line; managed senior and subordinated creditor negotiations, and advised and negotiated take-private transaction.
- Transaction Advisor to large publicly traded forest products company in its $360 million asset divestiture, utilized a tax-advantaged special purpose vehicle structure to save client over $10 million, and negotiated favorable terms with buyer, rating agencies and institutional investors.
- Transaction Advisor to publicly traded REIT in its $270 million asset divestiture, structuring special purpose vehicle, negotiations, and associated tax-driven installment sale and $270 million private placement capital raise for buyer.
- Transaction Advisor for $600 million Colombian telecommunications joint venture, provided transaction due diligence, financial modeling, bank underwriting as well as investor road show and rating agency discussions.
Mr. Jenkins earned his Master of Science degree from Miami University and his Masters of Business Administration degree with the highest honors from the University of Illinois. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors (AIRA).
