Max A. Smith – Vice President of Operations, Public Sector
Mr. Smith has over thirty years experience in both the public and private sectors where he gained first-hand experience in applying Lean technologies. Mr. Smith's Lean experiences are broadly distributed among OEM manufacturing, repair and maintenance, office processes, and administrative procedures. Within the United States Department of Defense, Mr. Smith has introduced Lean to the Navy on aircraft carriers to improve sailor's quality of life and reduce workload. He has also worked in NAVSEA's Foreign Military Sales process and with the Air Force at the Ogden Air Logistics Center.
Mr. Smith's successful approach to Lean implementation is to transfer Lean knowledge to his clients by adapting to their style while understanding their needs and desired speed of implementation. He concentrates on achieving near term results through involvement at all levels and sustainment of results through proven organizational change models and methodologies. Mr. Smith realizes that for successful long-term sustainment, cultural change is critical and, as such, utilizes MainStream's widely recognized acceptance tools along with traditional Lean tools based upon the Toyota Production System. His successes are well documented and chronicled by widely known publications.
Mr. Smith received a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University.
