Managing Director (Chicago, IL)

We are searching for a corporate restructuring Managing Director with a permanent base in the Chicago financial markets. Candidates must have demonstrated success in corporate turnaround, bankruptcy, operations improvement, and corporate dispositions. This position is a business development position within the Chicago financial markets. This position requires a combination of analysis, creativity, confidence, mental toughness, and the ability to constantly work in an intense environment. The successful candidate is a person who has the skills to perform as a corporate restructuring consultant and the desire to create a business niche within an established and respected practice.

Offering on-site assistance to organizations in crisis, they utilize their innovative approach to facilitate investors, financial institutions, business owners and other stakeholders in the enhancement or recovery of investments. Our client's established record in hands-on involvement in crisis management, operational improvement consulting, interim management, due diligence assessments, financial restructuring, and liquidation services have resulted in numerous success stories.

Requirements:

  • 10 years of demonstrated successful experience as a CRO, CEO, or CFO consultant in corporate restructuring roles.
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success developing corporate financial restructuring contracts within the Chicago financial markets.
  • Recognition within the Chicago financial markets as a knowledgeable professional who is called upon for advice.
  • Ability to immediately begin a forensic study of the client company, analyze what is and what is not working. Then prioritize and re-prioritize as necessary.
  • Provide financial analysis regarding restructuring/turnaround services for underperforming companies/stakeholders
  • Analyze business transactions/restructuring strategies
  • Articulate complex subject matter in a clear and concise manner. Prepare analyses/reports for clients to understand business operations.
  • Astute problem solving abilities both corporate and interpersonal. Effective working with members of the restructuring team.
  • Ability to build successful relationships with the clients base.
  • Ability to understand the risks and benefits of financial modeling results and then work to improve or capitalize on them.
  • Demonstrated experience in restructuring related roles including transaction advisory, performance improvement, creditor advisory, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Demonstrated resiliency working on a crisis team. Understand the value of developing more than one option to solve problems when possible.
  • Possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to travel nearly 50% of the time.
  • To be effective with this corporate restructuring team, the successful consultant will be honest and demonstrate integrity.
  • Education: Undergraduate degree required.
  • MBA from a top tier school preferred.
